Edna preached an encouraging word at Victory Christian Church on Sunday 27th July 2014 about the importance of right alignment and association as a believer.
Using Nehemiah and the rebuilding of the walls as the key scripture.

Sermon Notes:
For VCC to fulfill our God given vision, mandate and Call it will take Generations to work together as well as men and women to take their rightful place.
We need to Align our lives with God and those He placed around us in order to get the job done!
Nehemiah 4:6 AMP
[6] So we built the wall, and all of it was joined together to half its height, for the people had a heart and mind to work.
ALIGNMENT:
The repositioning of two objects to bring them into right relationship for maximum effectiveness.
Made by God for God.
First Alignment is with God and His Kingdom:
Colossians 1:13 AMP
[13] The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
Our second Alignment is with People:
1 Peter 2:5 a(AMP)
[5] Come and, like living stones, be yourselves built into a spiritual house,...
* we are the living stones
* He is the chief cornerstone
You are a brick in the wall!
1 Corinthians 12:18 NIV
[18] But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
God has given us capacity for relationship-
Genesis 1:26- made in His image & likeness
Genesis 2:18- not good, alone
The story of Nehemiah-
THE POWER OF NEXT:
Right Alignment gets the job done!
In the book of Nehemiah we find that God's people have been taken into captivity and that the walls of their city lies in ruins.
Nehemiah asked two questions-
1. What is the state of the people?
2. What is the condition of the place?
Response:
Wept, mourned, fasted & prayed, confession of sin,then- Finding God's strategy.
Let us rise up and build!
Nehemiah 3- mentioned more than 40 times EXACTLY who had to stand NEXT to whom to rebuild the wall.
Nehemiah 4- the schemes of the enemy opposes the strategy of God:
Enemy plotted to fight against them and stir up trouble, false prophets hired to put fear into them, false accusations, letters to install fear...
YET- WALL FINISHED IN 52 DAYS, Jewish nation couldn't repair it in 90 years!!!
ASSOCIATION:
Uniting in a Common purpose
- act of being associated, connection,relationship, joined with
Zechariah 3:8 NIV
[8] “ ‘Listen, High Priest Joshua, you and your associates seated before you, who are men symbolic of things to come: I am going to bring my servant, the Branch.
Your friends/associates are the prophesy of your future
1 Corinthians 15:33 AMP
[33] Do not be so deceived and misled! Evil companionships (communion, associations) corrupt and deprave good manners and morals
LEVELS OF RELATIONSHIP-
We need to know who God placed where and for what purpose in our lives.
Hezekiah, recovered from his sickbed, received presents & showed the king of Babylon all his treasures-
Isaiah 39:2 NKJV
[2] And Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his treasures-the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armory-all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.
Do not show your treasures to the enemy, your anointing, he wants to steal it.
Schemes of the enemy-

Offense-

Isolation-

[1] A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgment.
Bitterness-
Hebrews 12:15 NKJV
[15] looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
We are blessed by association, but our alignment connects us to our destiny and purpose- leaving a legacy that outlasts us.
ALIGN WITH GOD AND IN INTENTIONAL KINGDOM RELATIONSHIPS TO FULFILL HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE AND THE COMMUNITY HE HAS PLACED YOU IN.
